Andrea Bayr, young mother-of-three was brutally beaten to death with an electric drill by her 27-year-old Pakistani boyfriend, Hong Kong media reported.
Andrea Bayr, 25, went to a Castle Peak construction site where her boyfriend Safdar Husnain worked as a security guard.
Her boyfriend works as a night-shift guard at a footbridge construction site on Hung Cheung Road.
A friend from Pakistan, allegedly saw him fighting with Andrea Bayr before the killing took place.
While the two are on intense argument Husnain took an electric drill and struck Andrea on the head which knocked her to the ground.
Husnain did not stop hitting the victim until she was already laying in a puddle of blood.
Police were called and found Husnain attacking his girlfriend with a drill. Officers subdued him.
Bayr, who was unconscious with serious head injuries, was rushed to Tuen Mun Hospital but the mother of three children was declared dead on arrival.
A blood-stained drill and a hammer were found in the area.
District assistant commander Chan Chun-Chun said: “When officers arrived, they saw him using the electric drill, which was not plugged in, to smash her in the head.”
Husnain, a permanent resident who lives in nearby Yau Oi Estate, had elbow and leg injuries. He was held in a custodial ward at Queen Elizabeth Hospital last night. The district crime squad is investigating the case.
An ex-boyfriend of Bayr, a businessman who wished to be identified only as White told Sing Tao Daily in a telephone interview that Bayr was “a simple-minded person who would trust others easily.”
The woman, a divorcee, was jobless but had worked as a waitress and manager of restaurants in Lan Kwai Fong and Wan Chai.
White said Bayr had been arrested on suspicion of possession of illegal drugs but said she had never used drugs. She used to study at Sir Ellis Kadoorie Secondary School in West Kowloon.
White said he and Bayr started dating in January. But they broke up on March 20 after White learned she was still seeing Husnain.
He said, Bayr talked to Husnain for the last time to end their relationship.
A Pakistani security guard has been sentenced to life in jail by a High Court judge for the gruesome murder of a 25-year-old Austrian-Filipino bar waitress at a construction site.
